17. Air Commodore Harveyasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation if an inquiry is being held into the recent strike of electrical workers in the British Overseas Airways Corporation.
§ Mr. BeswickNo, Sir.
Air Commodore HarveyWere we not told in this House, only a week ago, that £360,000 of the taxpayers' money was lost through the strike? Surely, as this is a nationalised industry, the Government have a duty to inquire into the strike to see what was the real reason and to publish the proceedings?
§ Mr. BeswickA statement has already been made in the House by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Labour about the causes of this dispute.
