27. Mr. Macdonaldasked the Minister of Labour whether all men and women who are physically unfit for active service will, wherever possible, be given some Civil Defence part-time or full-time job which they will be expected to carry out.
Mr. LeeIn the event of war, it may be assumed that steps would be taken to ensure that men of military age unfit for active service, and women without domestic responsibilities, were employed to the best advantage in the national interest. The claims of Civil Defence would certainly not be overlooked.
