HC Deb 05 December 1951 vol 494 c2379
32. Sir R. Acland

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what steps he proposes to take to sustain the timber trade from West Africa, in view of the substantial increase in shipping charges in recent months.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I have no information indicating that the West African timber trade is likely to require assistance as a result of the recent increases in shipping charges.

Sir R. Acland

Will the right hon. Gentleman agree to consider a case, if it is put to him, to show there is a danger of this?

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I am certainly prepared to consider any correspondence.
