HC Deb 03 December 1951 vol 494 c1998
6. Mr. Hugh Linstead

asked the Minister of National Insurance what annual payments are made by his Department to the Ministry of Health in respect of the National Health Service; of what approximate amounts; and in respect of what sections of the Service.

Mr. Peake

The total amount estimated to be paid by way of appropriation in aid for the National Health Service in the year 1951–52 is £40,100,000, of which £4,100,000 is in respect of Scotland. The payment is a general contribution towards the cost of the Service and not in respect of any specific sections of it.

Mr. Linstead

Thank you very much.
