HC Deb 12 April 1951 vol 486 cc1186-7
46. Mr. Remnant

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he will permit the issue to pig club members of rations for a third pig, provided that that pig is sold to the Ministry of Food.

The Minister of Agriculture (Mr. Thomas Williams)

No, Sir. Present feedingstuff supplies do not permit of any improvement in ration scales.

Mr. Remnant

Can the right hon. Gentleman explain why money is made available to buy feedingstuffs in Gambia and why the Government are so unhelpful in attempting to increase pig feed in this country?

Mr. Williams

That has nothing to do with the Question on the Order Paper.
