§ 37. Mr. H. Hyndasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies when a cost-of-living bonus will be paid to civil servants in Antigua; and whether he is aware that it is now over two years since the civil servants stated their need of financial relief and well over six months since a commission of inquiry into the cost of living was appointed.
§ Mr. J. GriffithsAn increase in the cost-of-living bonus was announced at the end of last month and is to have effect from 1st January, 1950. The Governor informs me that it is hoped to complete the necessary adjustments and to begin payment during the next few weeks.
