40. Mr. Alport

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether his attention has been drawn to a memorandum submitted by the Northern Province Labour Utilisation Board to the Governor of Tanganyika on 8th August, 1950; and whether any reply has been sent to it.

I have not received a copy of the memorandum, but I am informed that the Tanganyika Government sent a reply to it on 5th October.
