HC Deb 27 November 1950 vol 481 cc789-90
58. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what further information he has received from the United Nations organisation regarding the number and welfare of German women detained in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics; and whether any considerable number have been returned to Germany.

Mr. Ernest Davies

No information on this matter has been received from the United Nations.

Mr. Sorensen

Is my hon. Friend aware that there is still a great deal of anxiety and indignation about the number of young women who are detained in Russia? Can nothing be done to make further inquiries? Can I have a reply?
