§ Earl WintertonOn a point of order, Mr. Speaker. Last week, in reply to a question put by me to the Lord President of the Council asking whether a statement could be made on Korea, the Lord President of the Council made the following reply:
There was, of course, a White Paper on Korea quite recently. Nevertheless I personally and the Government agree with the principle which the noble Lord has enunciated. With your permission, Mr. Speaker, my right hon. Friend the Minister of Defence proposes to make a statement next week."—[OFFICIAL REPORT, 9th November, 1950; Vol. 480, c. 1132.]I seek your permission, Mr. Speaker, to ask when this statement is to be made in view of the promise given.
