asked the Lord President of the Council whether he will consult with the Chancellor of the Exchequer with a view to increasing the allowance of foreign currency to British tourists during the Festival of Britain, and so make available to dollar spenders hotel and other accommodation which would otherwise be occupied.

No, Sir. The Festival of Britain is for the people of this country as much as for visitors from overseas, and it is not the Government's policy to encourage anyone to miss it.
