HC Deb 24 May 1950 vol 475 cc2066-7
61. Dr. Stross

asked the Minister of Food when he estimates it will be possible to de-ration soap.

Mr. Webb

I would rather not speculate about this just now.

Dr. Stross

Will my right hon. Friend remember the answer he gave me to a previous supplementary question, that our imports of oils and fats now stand rather high?

Mr. Webb

I hope I shall not forget any of my answers.

Mr. Harrison

Will my right hon. Friend seriously consider increasing the soap ration before he ever considers derationing it?

Mr. Douglas Marshall

In view of his reply, will the Minister consider giving an increased ration to fishermen—that is to say, those fishermen who still manage to survive under the present Administration?
