HC Deb 24 May 1950 vol 475 cc2047-8
37. Air-Commodore Harvey

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if, during his forthcoming visit to Malaya, he will look into the question of awarding the General Service Medal to members of the Auxiliary Police Force in Malaya, with a view to reconsidering his decision on this matter bearing in mind that in several towns this force is a permanent body, the members of which assist the regular police.

Mr. Dugdale

My right hon. Friend was aware of this problem before leaving, and I have no doubt that he will give the matter due consideration during his visit.

Air-Commodore Harvey

Will the right hon. Gentleman send this information out to his right hon. Friend, to ensure that it does reach him?

Mr. Dugdale

Certainly.
