asked the Minister of Supply what percentage of the cars used by the Government car pool are pre-war models.

The percentage of pre-war models in use by the Official Car Service on 1st May, 1950. was 13.8.

Mr. Langford-Holt

Is the right hon. Gentleman quite satisfied that this is in accordance with the policy of fair shares for all, when he realises that at least one in three private cars on the road is a pre-war model?

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Why were the 400 second-hand cars sold by his Department a month ago at Bedford not taken up by the official pool, thus releasing new cars for private customers or for export?
