HC Deb 19 May 1950 vol 475 c1509
Mr. Speaker

I think I ought to inform the House that I have received a telegram from the Speaker of the Canadian House of Commons, which reads as follows: Your telegram of sympathy to the Canadian people and the citizens of Winnipeg reached me shortly after the opening of our Session this afternoon, and was read by me immediately to an attentive and silent House which broke into prolonged applause at its conclusion. I am sending you for your record a copy of today's HANSARD. Speaker of the Canadian House of Commons.
