HC Deb 11 May 1950 vol 475 c556
3. Mr. Nabarro

asked the Minister of Health whether he has any plans for the improvement of the water supplies to residents and farmers in the parish of Abberley, in the Martley rural district of the county of Worcester.

Mr. Bevan

I have no proposals from the rural district council for supplying this parish.

Mr. Nabarro

Is the Minister aware that the existing precarious supply of water in this parish depends on a few wells and springs, and that it is now gravely threatened by opencast mining proposals? Will he, therefore, before permission is given to the Ministry of Fuel and Power for trial borings, bear in mind the water supply of the farms and local residences?

Mr. Bevan

Those are considerations that ought to be present in the minds of the local authority.
