§ 34. Mr. Michael Astorasked the Minister of Health how many complaints he has had from parents of adopted children making claims under the National Health Service on the need for producing adoption orders in order to comply with regulations.
§ Mr. AstorIs the Minister aware that in small communities indiscretions concerning secrecy are almost inevitable and cause considerable embarrassment to parents of adopted children? Would the Minister try to devise some scheme whereby the production of a birth certificate instead of an adoption order meets all the requirements?
§ Mr. BevanI think the hon. Member will find that the requirements are already met. I will certainly make inquiries to see if there is any removable embarrassment.
