asked the Minister of Health whether he will take steps to bring to the notice of the general public the facts about the nation's health contained in a recent publication of the British Medical Association, either by the publication of these as a White Paper or by some other suitable means.

Mr. Bevan

The Report of the Committee on Nutrition, to which I think my hon. Friend is referring, has been placed on sale and is already fully available to the general public.

Mrs. Middleton

In view of the fact that people were, unfortunately, denied access to this information during the recent election, would it not be as well to see that it is easily available to the electorate on a similar occasion?

Mr. Bevan

As the annual report of the Ministry of Health contains information on this subject, I do not see any reason why the taxpayers should pay the British Medical Association for this information.
