§ 42. Mr. Eric Fletcherasked the Minister of Health what steps he is taking to give effect to the recommendations contained in the first report of the Local Government Manpower Committee.
§ Mr. BevanI have sent a circular to local authorities revising the housing procedure as recommended by the Committee, and circulars dealing with their recommendations on the local health services, water and sewerage, and the sanctioning of loans, will be issued shortly.
§ Mr. FletcherWill my right hon. Friend continue to take the initiative, in order to see that full effect is given to these recommendations?
§ Mr. BevanI am very pleased with the recommendations of the Committee. have met representatives of the local authorities in regard to them, and as they are carried out I am sure that there will be much saving of staff both locally and nationally.
