§ 48. Mr. Haymanasked the Lord President of the Council what publicity has been given to the scheme for preventing silicosis amongst Cornish tin miners.
§ Mr. H. MorrisonA trial of the value of inhalations of aluminium dust in preventing silicosis in tin miners has been organised by the Medical Research Council, but it will be some years before the results can be assessed. Meanwhile, it would be premature to publicise the scheme as if the treatment were of established benefit.
§ Mr. HaymanIs it the case that the results of this valuable experiment will not be announced until sufficient time has elapsed to prove that they are good?
§ Mr. MorrisonWe want to go through with the investigations. As my hon. Friend apprehends, it will take some time before we know what the results are.
