HC Deb 19 June 1950 vol 476 cc844-5
24. Mr. Wood

asked the Minister of Food how much imported boxed fish has been received in this country each week since decontrol; and what was the corresponding figure for last year.

Mr. Webb

As the reply contains a table of figures, I will, with permission, circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Mr. Wood

Is the Minister aware that on certain days recently there has been enough imported fish in this country to satisfy the whole of the home demand?

Mr. Webb

If the hon. Gentleman would look at these figures, perhaps he will put down another Question on that point.

Following is the statement:

No official figures are available but the information, which is based largely on trade reports, will be of interest.
