§ Order read for consideration of Lords Amendments.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterI wish to raise a point of order. The Motion on the Order Paper, which I might point out relates to the British, and not, as printed on the Order Paper, the "Bristol" Transport Commission Bill, is for the consideration of Amendments made in another place. There were, in fact, three pages of such Amendments, but the only copy available to hon. Members of this House is one kept in the Private Bill Office, and the promoters, in spite of a request made to them yesterday, have refused to supply a copy of these Amendments.
I would ask you, Mr. Speaker, how it is possible for hon. Members to discharge their duties in dealing with these complicated Amendments to an important Bill if the only copy available is one in the Private Bill Office. I seek your guidance.
§ Mr. SpeakerThe remedy is in the hon. Member's own hands, merely to object, and then we can look into the matter. I have not had time to look into it myself.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterI am much obliged, Sir.
§ Lords Amendments to be considered upon Monday next.
