§ 61. Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what representations he has received regarding the claim for 12 days annual leave for industrial civil servants employed by the Ministry of Works; and what action he proposes to take.
§ Mr. JayI have been receiving a number of letters from hon. Members containing representations sent to them by industrial employees in the Ministry of Works about the claim for increased leave. As my right hon. and learned Friend pointed out in his reply on 18th July to the hon. and gallant Member for Brixton (Lieut.-Colonel Lipton) the trade union side of the Joint Co-ordinating Committee for Government Industrial Establishments has tabled this claim for discussion at the next meeting on 27th July. My right hon. and learned Friend will consider the claim in the light of the arguments which are then put forward.
