asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will advise the Kenya Government to appoint an African representative on the Development and Reconstruction Authority of Kenya in order to expedite African projects and to ensure the confidence of the African peoples.

No, Sir. An African representative has, however, been appointed on the Planning Committee which formulates development plans.

Mr. Pickthorn

Have His Majesty's Government considered appointing an African to look after the development and reconstruction of the groundnut project?

Mr. Griffiths

That is another question.
