HC Deb 04 July 1950 vol 477 cc250-1
60. Mr. Albu

asked the Secretary to the Treasury whether he will give instructions to His Majesty's Stationery Office to adopt a method of packing documents so that they can be opened upon receipt without destroying the contents.

The Financial Secretary to the Treasury (Mr. Douglas Jay)

The Stationery Office use the best methods of packing consistent with speed and economy. If the hon. Member will give me details of any particular complaint, I will look into it.

Mr. Albu

Will my hon. Friend recommend to the Stationery Office that they should look into the method of packing whereby one tears off a strip to get at the contents?

Mr. Jay

We will certainly look at it, provided it is not more expensive.
