HC Deb 19 April 1950 vol 474 c129
39. Mr. Bossom

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty when he expects to commence negotiations with the Institution of Professional Civil Servants about the assimilation of the senior staffs under the chief surveyor of lands to the salary scales determined in 1946 but not yet applied in the Admiralty.

The Civil Lord of the Admiralty (Mr. Walter Edwards)

The post-war salary scales for the Chief Surveyor of Lands and his deputies were not determined in 1946, though it has been agreed that when settled they shall have retrospective effect to 1st January of that year. Official discussions concerning them have admittedly been protracted and are still continuing; but I hope they will be concluded shortly.

Mr. Bossom

Has this salary scale been applied in any other Department?

Mr. Edwards

I cannot say without notice.
