HC Deb 05 April 1950 vol 473 c1185
36. Mr. A. Fenner Brockway

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what legal forms of racial discrimination there are in any of the Colonies.

Mr. J. Griffiths

In 1947, Colonial Governments were asked to carry out a factual survey of the extent to which legislation in their territories discriminated between different races, more especially between Europeans and non-Europeans. The surveys have now been broadly completed and the results are now being analysed.

Mr. Brockway

Can my right hon. Friend say how soon these results are likely to be made public?

Mr. Griffiths

It is hoped that the survey will be completed in June.
