asked the President of the Board of Trade what changes he proposes to make in the boundaries of the North-East Development Area.

Mr. H. Wilson

No change in the boundaries of the North-East Development Area is at present contemplated.

Mr. Chetwynd

But in view of the anxiety that has been aroused recently by Press statements to the effect that changes would take place soon, would my right hon. Friend give a firm assurance that he has no intention of taking Teeside out of the area?

Mr. Wilson

I cannot be responsible for Press reports of this matter. All I can say is that there has never been any question of this change.
