HC Deb 10 November 1949 vol 469 cc1378-9
19. Mr. Harrison

asked the President of the Board of Trade what progress has been made recently to procure more stable conditions of trade between this country and the Argentine.

Mr. H. Wilson

Discussions are now taking place with the Argentine Government and it would be premature for me to make any statement at this stage.

Mr. Harrison

Will my right hon. Friend assure the House that since we raised this matter at Question time about three weeks ago some progress has been made in the deliberations?

Mr. Wilson

Some progress has been made but, of course, it takes two sides to reach an agreement.
