§ 11. Mr. Austinasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will give details of the financial cost of subsidies granted under the Cotton Spinning (Re-Equipment Subsidy) Act in its first year of operation.
§ Mr. H. WilsonNo payment of subsidy under the Cotton Spinning (Re-Equipment Subsidy) Act, 1948, was made in the year ending 13th May, 1949, but one claim has since been paid and claims affecting four other mills are under consideration. Modernisation plans have so far been approved for 44 mills out of a total of 270 in groups registered for the purposes of the Act and plans for a further 12 mills are under consideration.
§ Mr. Anthony GreenwoodWould my right hon. Friend consider publishing in the OFFICIAL REPORT a list of the undertakings which have benefited in this way?
§ Mr. WilsonI should like to give consideration to that question.
