HC Deb 31 May 1949 vol 465 cc1923-4
Mr. Glenvil Hall

I beg to move in page 14, line 28, to leave out from "section," to end of line 30, and to insert: and (ii) the Treasury are satisfied at a subsequent date that the marriage or cohabitation has come to an end or that there are compassionate grounds for the payment of pension notwithstanding the marriage. We are doing here just what we did in Clause 4 when we made Amendments there. This gives discretion to the Treasury in regard to the widow, and we want to do it for the female under the dependents scheme.

Amendment agreed to.

Further Amendment made: In page 14, line 32, leave out from "from," to end of line, and insert "that date."—[Mr. Glenvil Hall.]
