§ 63. Mr. Douglas Marshallasked the Minister of Health if he can now make any reassuring statement about the recent occurrence of smallpox at Liskeard.
§ The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Health (Mr. Blenkinsop)Yes, Sir. I am glad to assure the hon. Member that, as I am advised, there is now no reason to fear any further risk of infection in the locality from this occurrence: and to inform the House that it is now thought most unlikely that the recent incursion of ship-borne smallpox will give rise to any more cases.
§ Mr. MarshallIs the hon. Gentleman aware that this statement will be very welcome news to a great number of people, and may I ask him if he would see to it that proper publicity is given in the national papers that Liskeard is now "All clear"?
§ Mr. BlenkinsopWe certainly hope that full publicity will be given to this Question and answer.
