HC Deb 28 March 1949 vol 463 cc847-8
71. Mr. Lipson

asked the Minister of Health if he is aware that there is a shortage in the Cheltenham area of splints recommended by orthopaedic surgeons and, as this is causing concern, if he will take steps to increase the supply in the near future.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Health (Mr. Blenkinsop)

Effective steps have already been taken to improve the supply of appliances. In the particular case of which the hon. Member sent my right hon. Friend details, the original order went astray, but the appliance has now been deliverd.

Mr. Lipson

Will the hon. Gentleman bear in mind that the delay in providing these splints may affect the child's whole future?
