HC Deb 15 March 1949 vol 462 cc1889-90
29. Major Ramsay

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps he intends taking in order to control the increasing number of crows and jackdaws in Angus.

Mr. Woodburn

I am not aware of any such increase recently, but my officials are always ready to assist and advise in necessary control measures.

Major Ramsay

In my opinion, there has been an increase, and would the Minister be prepared to have a word with me about it at a later date, with a view to putting the matter right?

Sir Waldron Smithers

Would the Secretary of State say what steps he is taking to stop the increase of parrots and jays on the Government Front Bench?

Mr. Woodburn

The hon. Gentleman has perhaps not noticed that this Question relates to crows.

Mr. Scollan

May I ask the Minister if he can see his way to substituting crow pie for haggis at the January festival?
