HC Deb 21 July 1949 vol 467 cc1550-1
53. Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

asked the Secretary to the Treasury whether he has considered the representations made to him on the subject of relief from Purchase Tax of racing cars manufactured in this country and required for experimental purposes; and whether, in view of the fact that similar racing cars of foreign manufacture are operated in this country without payment of Purchase Tax, he will extend a similar concession to those manufactured in this country.

Mr. Jay

The question is under consideration with the interests concerned.
