HC Deb 21 July 1949 vol 467 c1691

Order for Third Reading read [King's Consent, on behalf of the Crown, the Duchy of Lancaster, and the Duchy of Cornwall, signified].

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the Bill be now read the Third time."

10.5 p.m.

Lieut.-Colonel Elliot (Scottish Universities)

May we be assured that the Consent has been duly signified? It would be a great pity if this Bill went through and was then found to be null and void and had to be re-introduced. In the general din which was taking place I did not hear whether the King's Consent had been duly signified. If so, of course we on this side of the House would not wish to be obstructive in the matter.

Mr. Speaker

I understand it has been duly signified now.

Question put, and agreed to.

Bill accordingly read the Third time, and passed.
