HC Deb 21 July 1949 vol 467 cc1553-4
63. Mr. Hurd

asked the Minister of of Supply if he will give particulars of the goods that have been lost by theft or otherwise from his Department's depot at Burghfield during the past 18 months.

The Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Supply (Mr. Jack Jones)

Three cases of theft of goods from this depot have been reported during the past 18 months. The articles stolen were motor car accessories, machine tool gauges and small miscellaneous items, of a total value of £27 15s. 0d.

Mr. Hurd

Does that cover all the losses that have occurred. There is anxiety on the part of my constituents about what is going on.

Mr. Jones

I have no evidence of other losses, except those notified to us by the authorities, but if the hon. Gentleman has evidence of any other losses and will give them to us, we shall be glad to look into the matter.
