HC Deb 21 July 1949 vol 467 cc1536-7
22. Mr. Skeffington-Lodge

asked the Minister of Health if, in view of several recent incidents of food poisoning which have been traced to the consumption of duck eggs, he will give some general guidance as to how these comestibles should be cooked and can safely be eaten.

Mr. Bevan

I am advised that the main points are that it is safest to bake or fry these eggs, or to boil them for at least ten minutes. They should not be preserved in waterglass or eaten uncooked. Advice is given on inquiry from my Department.
