§ 38. Mr. Rankinasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what legislation to control immigration has been passed by the Government of Aden; and whether he will regard legislation of this kind as a matter of urgency in view of the pressure of immigrants from the hinterland and the limited social services of the colony.
Mr. Creech JonesImmigration control is at present regulated by the Aden Immigration Ordinance of 1942. A comprehensive plan to enforce stricter control over immigration from the mainland, which involves the construction of barriers and control posts, has been approved and funds have been voted by the Aden Legislative Council.
