HC Deb 18 July 1949 vol 467 c969
60. Mr. Keeling

asked the Minister of Works whether he will now give an assurance that the aircraft factory at Feltham will not be converted into a Ministry of Works store.

The Minister of Works (Mr. Key)

The proposal to use the main factory building of the General Aircraft Co. at Feltham as a store for public records has been dropped. I have no intention of making use of any part of this factory, with the possible exception of one or two outbuildings not required for production purposes.

Mr. Keeling

Can the Minister say whether, after that satisfactory decision was taken, any decision was made as to what use would be made of this factory?

Mr. Key

I understand that my right hon. Friend the Minister of Supply is arranging to use the buildings for Industrial purposes.

Mr. Keeling

Good.
