§ 60. Mr. Piratinasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what are the respective financial totals contributed by the United Kingdom and the United States of America Governments to the Joint Export-Import Agency.
§ Mr. MayhewThe sum contributed by the two Governments to the capital of the Agency amounts to approximately £15,750,000 each. In addition, His Majesty's Government have, since 1st January, 1948, when the agreement of 17th December, 1947, came into operation, spent about £25 million from appropriated funds on goods and services for the German economy, and during the same period the United States Government have spent from appropriated funds about £250 million as well as providing aid under the Economic Co-operation Act to the Bizone of about £100 million.
