asked the Minister of Agriculture how many horses have died during transit between Ireland and this country in the course of the three months ended 31st March, 1949.

The returns received by the Department show that one horse died during transit between Ireland and this country during the first three months of this year; and that one other horse was slaughtered on board owing to weakness.
