71. Mr. Vane

asked the Minister of Agriculture what expenditure was incurred by the Agricultural Land Commission during the period covered by their first report.

Mr. T. Williams

Expenditure of the Agricultural Land Commission and the Welsh Agricultural Land Sub-Commission up to 31st March, 1948, amounted to £3,003 1s. 2d. in respect of the salaries, wages and travelling expenses of members and staff. This sum is exclusive of the cost of allied services, such as office accommodation, stationery and telephones, which are borne on the Votes of other Departments.

Could the right hon. Gentleman give us the total figure including items such as rents, and the services of such members of the N.A.A.S. and land services who have been working for the Land Commission?

Mr. Williams

I do not think the N.A.A.S. and other services have been working for the Commission.
