asked the Minister of Food if he intends restoring the consumer subsidy, as distinct from the growers subsidy, on potatoes, that was dropped in June, 1947.

I presume the hon. and gallant Member is referring to the tonnage subsidy at one time paid to licensed first buyers to enable them to sell at a price lower than the farmers' selling price. The answer is "No, Sir."

Then will the right hon. Lady say why forms have been printed for the Ministry ready for this to be brought in?
