§ Mr. Glenvil HallThe Economic Information Unit of the Treasury is responsible for providing information to the Press and to the B.B.C. on questions of economic policy, including overseas negotiations. The hon. Member will, however, recognise that the prospects of reaching an agreement acceptable to both parties may be prejudiced by premature publicity before the opening of the negotiations.
