HC Deb 15 December 1949 vol 470 cc2891-2
12. Mr. Harold Davies

asked the President of the Board of Trade if, in view of the recent increasing demand in hard currency areas for finished silk products, he will increase the allowance of raw silk importations.

Mr. H. Wilson

Arrangements have already been made to give additional allocations of raw silk to manufacturers who will use it for the execution of orders from dollar and similar hard currency markets.
