§ 69. Major Legge-Bourkeasked the Minister of Agriculture what reports he has received from the Joint Advisory Committee on Further Agricultural Education under the Chairmanship of Dr. Thomas Loveday; and if he intends to implement these recommendations.
§ Mr. T. WilliamsTwo reports have been received from the Joint Advisory Committees on Agricultural Education: one on the provision in secondary schools of courses preparatory to agricultural employment, and the other on agricultural and horticultural institutes. I assume from the hon. and gallant Member's reference to further education that 519 he has the second in mind. The Minister of Education and I are not necessarily committed to agreement, with all the details of the report but we have commended it to the attention of local education authorities, and I am glad to be able to say that the completion of the bulk of the programme of new institutes recommended by the committee during the next few years is already in prospect.
