§ 52. Mr. Yorkasked the Minister of Food whether he will consider giving preferential rations to single persons living alone and to adolescents.
§ Mr. StracheyI appreciate fully the difficulties of people living alone and of adolescents but, for the reasons which have been repeatedly given to the House, I do not think these difficulties can be met by means of preferential rations.
§ Mr. YorkIs the House to understand that the Minister's Parliamentary Private Secretary was not giving the policy of the Government when he spoke on the wireless a week or two ago and said that he was in favour of this preferential ration?
§ Mr. StracheyThe hon. Member must call my attention to any particular words he may have in mind in that connection.
