HC Deb 03 November 1948 vol 457 cc859-60
56. Colonel Ropner

asked the Minister of Food whether he is aware that there is a glut of home-grown onions and that growers without suitable storing accommodation are anxious about the slow sale of their crops; and whether, in view of this, he will put back by at least one month the date for the importation of onions from abroad in order to give growers in this country a chance to dispose of more of their crops.

Dr. Summerskill

I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the reply given by my right hon. Friend to the hon. Member for Leominster (Mr. Baldwin) on Monday, 1st November.
