asked the Postmaster-General how many applications for telephone installations are outstanding in the county borough of Swansea; and if he will take steps to expedite the delivery of urgently-needed technical equipment in that area.

Mr. Wilfred Paling

On 30th September, 1,114 applications for telephone service were outstanding in the county borough of Swansea. The provision of additional exchange equipment and underground cables at Swansea is being pressed forward as rapidly as possible within the limits of the supplies available for home use.
