HC Deb 01 November 1948 vol 457 cc501-2
38. Commander Noble

asked the Minister of Food whether his attention has been drawn to the difficulties met with by parents in obtaining a full quota of food supplies for their children who hold emergency ration cards while on holiday from boarding schools; and what steps are proposed to remedy this situation.

Mr. Strachey

I have not heard of any difficulty over rationed foods but there are sometimes difficulties over milk and eggs. Local food officers will always help temporary ration card holders who cannot get their share of rationed or allocated foods.

Commander Noble

Is the Minister aware that the letter in "The Times" by his director of public relations has cleared up the point to which I referred? Will he see that more publicity is given to it?

Mr. Strachey

I will certainly do so.
